Post Cartesian Artists Network [PCAN] was set-up in early 2010 by the members of Claxton & Major Collective. It was created to provide a consistent online resource to their practice and to support the work of other practitioners engaging with alternative paradigms of artistic production.
Claxton & Major collective negotiate issues of producing and discussing contemporary Art practise within their work. Fundamentally they create ‘spaces’ for the production and discussion of contemporary Art that are linked through PCAN. This is principally realised by creating structures to enable and facilitate self-reflection and institutional critique; with emphasis put on looking towards possible futures.
PCAN's aim is to create a loose network of Artists committed to thinking (or rethinking) about Art and the wider world in new and challenging ways.
